Submit video for general access or set up your own institutional page

Surgeons, cardiologists (and other procedure-based specialists), pathologists and forensic scientists can submit video to Autopsy.Online. Choose to make video open to subscribers. Or, create a private Institutional Page. All users benefit from Autopsy.Online’s patent pending mini-video search function: compare procedures and techniques; cross-reference unique pathology and anatomy; follow cases and procedures from start to finish; and more.

Instructions:

1. Pre-recording.

Consent: Obtain written consent from the patient, legal next of kin or power or attorney for health care for video recording.
Tech: For GoPro recording, use the Video option set at “Loop.” Select MAX for the Loop time. This will automatically divide your video into 5 minutes sequential segments. Note: Approval is required for submissions of longer duration as this will require editing.

2. Recording:
Acceptable recording devices:
GoPro (fixed, head strap, etc.)

3. Post-recording.
Acceptable storage devices: ScanDisk or USB flash drive
Acceptable file formats: MP4
Video review:Review video and determine number of parts you wish to submit.
Search Term Assessment: Generate a list of general search terms that apply to your entire video and any specific ones that apply to any part. (You will add these to the Video Submission Formuscle)

4. Order Page Space at Autopsy.Online
Select Private Institutional Page or Open Institutional Page.
Complete payment.

5. Complete the Video Submission Form on this page

7. Video Publication
Videos submitted for a Private Institutional Page will be automatically uploaded to Autopsy.Online.
Videos submitted for Open Institutional Page will be peer reviewed and tech-reviewed* prior to uploading to Autopsy.Online.
After review, you will be receive one of the following results by email.
Accept
Revise – tech
Revise – peer
Revise – tech/peer
Reject

(Note: Any of the Revise categories will require re-submission of all or part of the video with technical and/or peer-review issues addressed.)

*Tech Guidelines:
The operative field, or anatomic/pathologic finding should occupy at least 25% of the video field for most of the video.
View of subject should be direct-facing rather than at an angle.
The contact point between surgical instruments and the body should be generally centered in the video field most of the video.
If using a head strap, head motion should be generally stable and centered on the subject for most of the video.
